Beyond 2010 - 70% Funding Support

Beyond 2010 is a training grant programme funded by the European Social Fund and the East of England Development Agency and managed by Essex County Council.

EEEGR have been selected as the partners to represent the Energy industry, encompassing all businesses who directly operate in any area of the energy supply chain; from extraction and manufacturing to installation.

Priority businesses for the energy sector are those that operate in the supply chain for the following industries;  

  • Oil & Gas
  • Conventional Generation
  • Offshore and Onshore Wind
  • CCS & Nuclear
  • Biofuels/Biomass
  • Decommissioning
  • Coal Gasification
  • Renewables

The programme has been developed to assist businesses in the East of England to fund training which will fill critical skills gaps within the business and support business development.  The programme is running until December 2011, within which time all training must be applied for, completed and claimed back.

Key Notes;

  • Businesses must be operating within the energy sector/energy supply chain
  • Businesses must be based within one of the East of England’s six counties; Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire,
  • Businesses must be trading, not a start-up.
  • Training cannot be a legal requirement e.g. F Gas courses, Health and Safety
  • Training must have a direct benefit to the business
  • For training costing over £3,000 an alternative quote is required
  • Grants are for a percentage of the training costs only (Grants cannot be claimed back for T&S, accommodation, materials etc)
  • Percentage of support is to be agreed with the project coordinator (maximum of 70% for SME’s, 50% for larger companies)
  • Funding cannot be retrospective for training the company has already completed
  • Businesses must pay the VAT
  • Training must be NVQ level 2 equivalent or above.

So that we can ensure you are eligible before asking you to complete the application process the project coordinator will need to conduct a training needs analysis, this can be done via email, over the phone or in a face to face meeting.
