Risk assessment (Generic assessment process)
Risk assessment is simply a thorough a examination of what in the workplace may cause harm, and deciding if enough has been done done control the risks or whether more can be done.
As a requirement of the Management of Health & safety regulations states that employers must make suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks at work to their employees.
Course duration: 1 day (8 hrs)
Course objectives: To enable delegates to conduct effective risk assessments of workplace tasks.
Course target delegates: Managers, Safety officers, Responsible persons.
Delegates will gain an understanding of:-
Purpose and requirements of assessing risk.
Defining accidents and contributory factors.
Definition of Hazard and Risk.
Methods of prevention.
Risk assessment and the law.
When to risk assess.
Risk assessment process.
Severity vs. probability.
Control Measures.
Action plans.
Reporting and monitoring.
Delegates will complete a multi choice test paper and practical risk assessment to demonstrate their understanding.
After completion, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance and set of risk assessment guidance notes.
