Plastering & Coving

Summary: 

This course is ideal for the beginner or other tradesman wishing to add the skill of plastering
and dry lining to their range of work. No previous experience is necessary and all training is
practical with no written work. Training is carried out in a purpose built training bay which will
be allocated to you at the start of your course. The bay is specifically designed to provide the
challenges needed to learn the technique of plastering and to ensure you have been given
every obstacle that may occur in a real working environment.

Full Description: 

Health & safety, PPE and safe working practises
• To prepare surfaces prior to plastering
• To cut and fix plasterboard to walls and ceilings
• To cut and fix angle beads
• To apply finishing coats on walls ceilings to a flat and
level surface ready for redecoration
• Erecting coving into the bay with external and
internal corners
• To apply bonding backing coats
• The correct use of tools, equipment & materials
• The removal of old plaster, coving and plasterboard

On completion of the course you will have achieved an excellent working knowledge of
products and techniques to enable you to start your own business or find work in plastering.
Dry lining is available as an option if the student wishes to do it.
Tool Kits

For the duration of your chosen course all materials, tools and equipment will be supplied. A full tool kit can be supplied to take away with you at the end of your course if you require, prices for these can be supplied on request.
