Introducing the Balanced Scorecard
In the 1990s two Harvard Business Lectures developed a performance management tool called the Balance Scorecard. Today, Kaplan & Norton’s theory on managing different aspects of performance collectively has enabled many companies, big and small achieve a much greater success. This training explores the basics of the Balance Scorecard focusing on each of the four elements; Finance, Customer, Internal Processes, & Development, and how each of them can be interlinked to a greater effect. Key Learning Points This training covers the basic concept of the Balance Scorecard and its component parts. Each of the four perspectives are explored and how, when linked together, can give a powerful assessment on how a business or department is performing. Worked examples across different industries will be used to highlight the versatility of this management tool. You can expect to be This is an interactive session to briefly explore the Balance Scorecard management tool. Working in groups you will get the chance to explore and challenge each perspective of the scorecard before a final debate as the whole group bring it all together. This subject is usually reserved for Senior Managers so it is a good chance for those not in Senior positions to work on something new and challenging. Preparing for the session Most of the material for this session will be provided, but prior to the training it would be good to reflect on how performance in your business is managed now.
