Working Safely with hand and power tools

As a requirement of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998, Employers must ensure that equipment provided for use at work, is suitable for the task for which it will be used, maintained in a safe condition and used in a safe manner.

This awareness course is designed to assist employees in understanding how to meet these requirements.

Course duration: 1/2 Day (4 hrs)

Course objectives: To provide delegates with information on the safe selection, use, inspection and care of hand and power tools

Course Target delegates: new employees, persons who make use of Hand and Power tools during their work activities.

Delegates will gain an understanding of:-

Regulations.
Power tool classifications.
Power tool hazards.
Tool selection.
Common Injuries.
Hand/arm vibration syndrome.
Selection of P.P.E.
Safe working principles.
Do's & don'ts.
Maintenance & inspection.
Checklists & records.
Hand tools.
Storage.

Delegates will complete a multi choice test paper and to demonstrate their understanding.
