This course is based around HSE guidance and will aid in the identification and safe work practices required for NON licenced work.

Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos is the hidden killer which lurks unseen in many work environments.

The Control of Asbestos regulations 2006 require mandatory training for anyone liable to be exposed to asbestos fibres at work. This includes maintenance workers and others who may come into contact with or who may disturb asbestos (eg mainenance staff) as well as those involved in asbestos removal work.

This course is designed to comply with the requirements of the regulations and follows the HSE guidance on the subject.
Course Duration: 1/2 Day (4 Hrs)

Course target delegates: Any Persons who are may come into contact or disturb asbestos in the course of their work.

Delegates will gain an understanding of:-

What is Asbestos?
What are the dangers of Asbestos?
Duties and Responsibilities.
Exposure limits.
Where is asbestos found.
Identification of asbestos.
What should you do when asbestos is identified?
Personal Protective Equipment.
Avoiding risks.
The Asbestos Survey.
Risk Assessment.
Emergency procedures.
Delegates will complete a multi choice test paper and practical assessment to demonstrate their understanding.
