Artexing & Coving (beginners)
This course is ideal for the beginner or other tradesmen wishing to add to his skills, no previous experience is necessary and all work is practical with no written work. The training will be carried out in a purpose built training bay with small class sizes ensuring individual attention.
Beginners and Advanced level
(Beginners)
. The correct use of tools and equipment
• To erect a plasterboard ceiling
• To tape, caulk and feather joints ready for texturing
• To use sealers prior to artexing
• To correctly mix with proper materials
• Apply artex to walls and ceilings with popular patterns
• Patterns such as broken leather, stipple, medusa,
knifed plaster, swirl etc
• About laced finishes and advanced artex comb
patterns
• To install coving to your bay with both internal and
external corners
• Health & safety, PPE and safe working practises
(Advanced)
This course is ideal for those who already have a working knowledge of artexing or for students who have completed the beginners course above.
• All the popular comb patterns such as, basket, roses, circle, circle & fan etc
• Re-texturing and flattening ceilings
• Different methods and materials for larger size coving
The above are the main areas of work carried out today in this industry particularly flattening old patterned ceilings with artex (which is more flexible than plaster) and re-texturing old patterned ceilings. On completion of the course you will have achieved an excellent working knowledge of products and techniques to enable you to find work in artexing or start in business for yourself.
Tool Kits
For the duration of your chosen course all materials, tools and equipment will be supplied. A full tool kit can be supplied to take away with you at the end of your course if you require, prices for these can be supplied on request.
