Accounting Apprenticeship L2
Prior to the start of the training, pre-entry requirements are carried out
to check eligible for funding. The AAT L2 apprenticeship will give skills required to work in accounting environment. For those already familiar and in a financial role will be able to update their knowledge and benefit from having a clear understanding of the responsibilities of their role and develop new skills.
This level 2 qualification is suitable if you are wish to work in an accounting environment. An Apprenticeship offers the best of both worlds. It gives you invaluable on-the-job training while you’re being paid and working toward a nationally recognised qualification.
The course contains a number of different units which can be tailored to your needs and are based on the “National Occupational Standards”. These are set by industry professionals, so you know that what you are learning is what employers want you to know.
• The person needs to have been resident in the UK and Islands for three years.
• The person must not be in full time education.
• The person must be aged 16 years or older on the 31st August in the funding year in which their apprenticeship starts.
• The person can only start their apprenticeship after the last Friday in June in the funding year in which they became 16 years of age.
• Employment must be 16 hours or more.
• Anyone who has obtained a higher education qualification at Level 4 or above as defined on the NQF or QCF, including being awarded a first degree by a recognised university or other recognised higher education (HE) institution, is ineligible for Apprenticeship funding, except those who have participated in the New Deal.

Level 2 Certificate Principles
This technical certificate is designed to support learners with the knowledge aspects of working in accounts.
The Technical Certifcate focuses on the knowledge and understanding which underpins the range of work, interpersonal and technical skills needed by the adminstators in the Uk workforce. The body of knowledge includes NVQ knowledge, Employement Rights and Responsiblties (ERR) and wider aspects of the occupation sector. ERR framework makes provsion for apprentices to undergo a period of initial assesment and induction to ensure time to settle into the programme and the job.
Functional Skills
Learners will also complete the functional skills at level 1 for maths and level 2 for English through embedded and workshop learning.
• In agreement with the employer an apprentice should select units that are appropriate to their work role.
• Training is given where skills gaps are identified. Our tutor could
typically deliver 3 – 6 workshops in-house.
• Apprentices will normally be expected to set aside approximately 2 hours a week for self-study time.
Level of Support
• Apprentices work with their Assessor and Line Manager to ensure that work based tasks and assessment deliver business improvement.
• An apprentice will undertake an initial assessment to help plan a training programme.
• Apprentices are required to complete English and Maths training up to Level set aside by the sector.
• A workplace mentor will need to be identified to support training.
