A full time 'training for industry' course in practical wooden boat building.

Full Description: 

Starting with 12 weeks of joinery in order to build up the necessary hand skills, students then move on to the boat shop where, on a wide range of projects, they will gain an understanding of the restoration and new build of woodent boats. The course includes City and Guilds 2463 level 3 (formerly know as 2451)

We pride ourselves on building boatbuilders fit for the industry, which is why we have over 30 projects to ensure as broad and informed a training experience as possible. Courses start in January, April and September each year.

£14,883 incl VAT
Additional costs: 

The course price covers all materials used on the course. It does not cover living expenses. Additionally a set of tools will be required from the outset of the course. Grants are available to help with course costs.

After the course: 

Those students that want to and have committed themselves to the couse will usually find employment either in the UK or abroad. Many find that the skills gained are very transferable and allow them to travel.
